Auckland Indian Sports Club Today

Auckland Indian Sports Club (A.I.S.C.) has more than 300 playing members and many passionate supporters.

The Club’s origins in the Auckland Indian community began over 75 years ago and has since evolved to include members from many different cultures and backgrounds.

Members of A.I.S.C enjoy life-long ties. The Club is cross-generational, with active players from as young as five years old to 60 plus. Some of our five year old members are following in the footsteps of their grandparents in representing the Club with pride. These senior members may no longer play for the Club but are often seen on the sidelines cheering the teams on.

A.I.S.C. has achieved many honours in hockey and is seen as a competitive Club with outstanding players. Many of our players have gone on to represent New Zealand at various levels.

In recent years, many of the Senior and Youth teams have won their grades in the Auckland Hockey competitions. At the annual New Zealand Indian Sports Association Queen’s Birthday Tournament, our teams have always been ones to watch, with successes in the Men's A, Men's B, Women's hockey and Women's netball sections throughout the years.

Cricket and Netball are also played by A.I.S.C. members. These teams are represented well by the members that play these sports and enjoy their own successes. The Club acknowledges the great work these players do and is looking to encourage more teams in these sports.

A.I.S.C. is fortunate enough to have a full Executive team, excellent Coaches and Team Managers as well has many other amazing volunteers and helpers throughout the seasons. As a community and family oriented Club, the management of A.I.S.C. are focused on not only being a strength when playing, but also on social responsibility. Fair play and having fun together is encouraged at all levels. Our Coaching and Development team are committed to building the skills of the all members within the Club, to create a pathway for our younger players in the future.

With a rich history, community and great players, A.I.S.C. looks to grow stronger and better today and for future generations.
